Bomet, Kenya – The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Correctional Services, Dr. Salome M. Beacco, CBS, visited Bomet Prisons as part of her official duties, emphasizing the need for improved collaboration among stakeholders involved in the rehabilitation of inmates.

During her visit, Dr. Beacco expressed gratitude to the partners working with the facility, commending their efforts and support for inmates. She urged stakeholders to maintain and enhance their cooperation to improve correctional services and the reintegration of inmates into society.

Among the officials accompanying Dr. Beacco were the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Nicholas Maswai, and County Probation Director, Mrs. Lilian Oiyie, along with probation officers from both Bomet and Sotik stations.

Also present during the visit was a delegation led by Bishop Boniface Oloontare Kugotha. The team included international partners from Canada—Derek Ramkissoon, Ellen Ramkissoon, and Grace Walker—alongside local representative Christine Njue and others.

The visit underscored the department’s ongoing commitment to fostering partnerships that promote rehabilitation and community support for inmates across the region.
