CAMT-KENYA SPORT FOR PEACE AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

The rural Mbeere communities experience  many shocking social odds that has been happening and as a result this has ended up affecting the communities and specifically youth and children. These issues included:

  1. Insecurity in the region caused by joblessness because good numbers of youth/young people

formed gang groups that grabbed properties from the local communities,

  1. Unknown killing of innocent lives,
  2. Issue of drugs,
  3. Gender base violence
  4. Insecurity amongst citizens and abduction of children. .
  5. Sexual harassment, abuse and forced marriages sometime caused internal conflict amongst

community

  1. Natural disaster (outbreak of virus and other diseases

Our  Objectives in this innitiative:

Main Objective:

–          To build peaceful communities through power of sport, and thereby create a safer, more equitable and inclusive nation.

–          To advance sustainable peace through the powerful catalyst of sport.

–          To nature, empower and link talented young people with relevant talent academy.

The objective of CAMT-KENYA SPORT FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is to show in a

tangible way the Federating, educational and social impact of sports. Peace and sport’s expertise has been progressively built over the years through practice on the ground in a variety of different context and complex situations. As CAMT-KENYA CBO we positions ourselves as providing a support and empowerment role to our community.

We build Peace and Sport around four key pillars namely:Mobilize, Empower, Connect, Demonstrate and Advocate.

Sport used includes; Athletics, Volleyball, pool table, Hand ball among others. Result obtained will

include:

  1. Use of sport to address targeted issues:-CAMT-KENYA CBO uses sports activities to help reduce violence to encourage integration of youth and to help youngsters recover from the trauma of election related disillusionment and political and social injustices.
  1. Sustainable Development:-We believe that sustainable peace can be significantly advanced through the powerful catalyst of sport. CAMT-KENYA CBO natures and empowers the participants of Peace and development program to be self reliant and sustainable development.
  1. Democratizing access to sports activities and facilities:- Through partners and international donations CAMT-KENYA is able to roll our new sporting activities and help youngsters access the available sporting Centres to grow their talents.
  1. Enhanced Social cohesion:- Our clarion call is to build peaceful communities through the power of sport, and thereby create a safer ,more equitable and inclusive world.

CAMT-KENYA  takes concrete action to prove the federating, educational and social impact of sports through sport diplomacy initiatives and field programs with the support of our champions for peace clubs. We have witnessed peace and sport bringing together and

developing partnerships with likeminded institutions with the aim of implementing and ensuring the sustainability of our programs, maximizing the use of sport for development and peace and leading social transformation in every area of our nation affected by social-political instability

and poverty.

Together with boys and girls in sport we are encouraging people of all ages to join us in this noble initiative. All funds raised will be used to donate footballs, uniforms, first aid kit and any other games kit to boys and girls local teams .clubs and projects.

We will ensure every penny we raise will go direct to the grassroot clubs to equip them to achieve their full potential.
