The missionaries from Canada arrived in Kenya with high hopes and excitement. Among them we Pst.Derek and His wife Ellen, Pst.Sujith and Bishop Ron. They we welcome by a team of Kenya missionaries led by Amb.Robert Njue and his wife Christine and daughter Precious Princess Kyla, Pst.Moses Mwicigi and his wife Jackline and children Peter and Patience, Pst.Timothy Namu and his wife Dorcas and their daughter Shana not forgetting Bishop Boniface from Maasai land.They had come to share the gospel and bring the love of Jesus to the people of Kenya. On the ground the team was welcomed by the local church (Good News Mission ) in Nairobi and local church or Narok (Jesus Glory Church) and the villagers in the Maasai area. They were warmly greeted with smiles and open arms wherever they went. The team quickly settled in and began their work. They spent the mornings teaching Bible classes, sharing stories, and praying with the children local people. In the afternoons, they visited the local markets and shared the gospel with the merchants as they hold street worship with the local churches .
During their three days stay in the urban Nairobi they were able to minister in various session in and out side the church as per the program set for them. They had an experience with Abraze worship Experience where Pastor Sujith took the floor and the Holy spirit visited the whole place ministering grace and life to people. The worship was powerful as everyone surrendered to the will of God. It was total setting free . Pastor Derek had an opportunity to speak to business community as well and God visited the business community and pastors in a big way. We desired to have more time with him to listen to his testimonies and his words of wisdom. Bishop Ron was one of a kind. Man of few words but aged with a lot of wisdom. They will ever remain in our memories. During their time in Kenya, the missionaries were able to visit many different villages and towns. They shared the gospel in churches,Youth , women, children and even in remote areas. Everywhere they went, they were met with enthusiasm and excitement. The missionaries also had the opportunity to experience the culture of Kenya. They visited the Masai Mara National Reserve to see the wildlife, attended bush maasai barbecue , and even took a safari. The team had an opportunity to experience CAMT-Kenya Prison Ministry that was led so well by Pastor Timothy and team Kenya. 25 inmates got born again. That was one of the fulfilling moment from both team Kenya and team Canada. The prison offices were happy to receive gifts from visiting missionaries . PST.Derek’s wife Ellen led the team in ushering the gifts of soaps, tissue papers, diapers , milk, medicines and many others gifts to prisoners. It was such moment of God setting the captives free as we could see smile and tears of Joy.
Prison Visit
By the end of their stay, the missionaries had gained a deep understanding of the needs of the people and culture of Kenya. They had made many new friends and planted many seeds of the gospel. They had seen the power of God in action and were thankful for the time they had spent in Kenya. They spoke life to many and empowered many.
In the last day of mission at maasai land CAMT-Kenya Mission Team had an opportunity of having a round table of sharing great visions which was received well by Canadian missionaries .We saw the need of working together for the benefit of expanding the kingdom of God and with the aim of liberating our communities.
The team from Canada organized a dinner for team Kenya in several occasion as a gesture of appreciation. We enjoyed serving and learning together. This is the Joy that Christ brought to all of us. It was such a memorable moment that won’t be erased in our memories.
Prison Visit
The team returned home to Canada with a renewed sense of purpose and faith. They had experienced God’s love in a powerful way and were determined to continue to share the gospel with others.
The missionaries from Canada will always remember their time in Kenya as a life-changing experience. It was a time of growth, discovery, and joy. They left with a deeper understanding of faith and the power of God’s love and promised to come again and again. To them God made us an open door to Africa through Kenya. To come and touch more lives, liberating them in an holistic way in Jesus name.
